</title><link>http://andersonvalleypost.com/news/2008/oct/08/bailout-redux/?partner=RSS</link><description>Thinking Americans are shocked by the actions of our U.S. Congress as they wallow in the mess they made when they allowed financial institutions to lend so much money that it is beyond any borrower's ability to repay. Instead of forcing those institutions into bankruptcy, thus creating an economic crisis of gigantic proportions in the United States and abroad, our leaders have devised a large bail out plan.

</title><link>http://andersonvalleypost.com/news/2008/oct/08/virtual-buys-versus-local-shopping/?partner=RSS</link><description>Was it coincidence or fate that within the past three days I have had two very similar conversations regarding the subject of shopping locally?
Both conversations revolved around shopping at our local stores, with the first discussion more focused on my community of Happy Valley and the few shopping opportunities we have here. I would classify that type of experiece as shopping at neighborhood centers.

</title><link>http://andersonvalleypost.com/news/2008/oct/08/tips-loading-horses-trailer/?partner=RSS</link><description>Having a horse that won't load in a trailer is like having a lawnmower, weed-cutter, chain saw or outboard motor that won't start. They're worthless if you need to take them somewhere. How else can you get a horse to the vet? You can't. The vet has to come to the horse and that is much more expensive.

</title><link>http://andersonvalleypost.com/news/2008/oct/08/letter-editor-october-8-2008/?partner=RSS</link><description>I received my ‘Official Voter Information Guide' in the mail the other day.
Wow! It's a thick one. Perhaps a bit intimidating by the weight of it alone.
Amazingly, there's a grand total of twelve, I say again, twelve propositions being served up to voters this November! Frankly, it all seems just a bit overwhelming! For heaven's sake, there's got to be a better way to run state government.

</title><link>http://andersonvalleypost.com/news/2008/oct/01/wee-bit-rr/?partner=RSS</link><description>My 56th birthday came and went Tuesday, Sept. 23, and I spent the day at work.
Afterwards, it was time to celebrate another year with my two nearly-adult children, Timothy, 20, and Kris, 18, and the new love of my life, Kim Chamberlain of Anderson.
