</title><link>http://www.andersonvalleypost.com/news/2009/nov/05/firefighters-public-gather-andersons-community-chr/?partner=RSS</link><description>Firefighters from the Anderson Fire Protection District will join with members of the public in a tradition spanning 93 years when the Anderson community Christmas tree is harvested at 9 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, off Highway 44 between Shingletown and Viola.
White signs with green lettering will point the way for motorists, Anderson Fire Chief Andy Nichols said.
Everyone is welcome to join in the fun. Hot drinks and chili will be served by the Anderson Kiwanis Club.
The white fir tree is donated by Sierra Pacific Industries while Dura-Crane and Franklin Logging will donate the heavy equipment needed to gently lower the live tree onto a flatbed truck for hauling back to Anderson, where firefighters will decorate the tree in time for its lighting and the arrival of Santa Claus at 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 27.
