South County Profile: April 11, 2007
Jack Fife, 43, of Happy Valley, moved to Shasta County in 1971 with his family. Fife is a 1982 graduate of Shasta High School in Redding.
Fife is part owner of Fife Metal Fabricating in Redding and has been working there for 25 years. He started to learn the family trade at age 14 in school and spent weekends working in his father’s shop. Fife started out as a general laborer and advanced throughout the years to become a project manager and estimator for the company. He has been fortunate enough to be able to work on some major projects in Shasta County, such as City Hall and the new Redding Library.
“I enjoy being a part of our family business. In the future I would like to see it grow big enough to do more jobs in the Shasta County area,” said Fife.
Fife and his wife Tiffany have recently purchased the Redding Rage, a local women’s football team, which he has been coaching for three years. Fife hopes that the team will eventually be contenders in the Independent Women’s Football League, a nationwide organization. The Redding Rage practices in Anderson at Anderson River Park twice a week.
“After playing and coaching football for many years, I find that I enjoy coaching women’s football, due to the fact that they like to learn the game and are willing to work hard to do what it takes to get ready for league play,” said Fife.
In his spare time, Fife enjoys working with his family on old cars, practicing archery with his sons at the archery range and coaching football. Fife has been married to his wife Tiffany for 16 years. She is a teacher at West Valley High School. They have two sons, John, 15, and David, 14.
Fife Metal Fabricating is located at 4191 Eastside Road in Redding approximately four miles north of Anderson.
