Battle for 1st?

SPINNING FEET - Jake Fuller sent the discus 172-feet 6-inches and Andy Miller had a 146-7. Miller took the shot put with a 43-10 to Fuller’s 43-07 in the West Valley - Yreka track meet.

UP AND OVER - Halie Linschoten goes over the pole vault at 6-06 to take a fourth place in the West Valley - Yreka meet.

In what appears to be a friendly battle for first places in the shot put and discus throw Jake Fuller and Andy Miller traded places with winning throws at the meets. Stay tuned.

Varsity Girls

In the 100-meter dash Amanda Oliva took a first place with a 13.27 and Rachell Russell took a second with a13.47 and Taylor Samuels third with13.87. In the 200 dash Oliva once again scored first with a 27.68. In the 400 dash Alyssa Christensen came in first with a 1:01.92. The 800 run saw Michelle Johnson score first with a 2:25.83 followed by Katie Jungwirth with a 2:44.22. Jungwirth also took the 1600 run with 6:02.31. 3200 Meter Run Varsity West Valley’s Michelle Johnson placed first in the 3200 run with a 13:09.

The 100-meter hurdles had Alyssa Christensen with a 16.40 and Stephanie Alward next with a 16.45. In the 300 hurdles Alward took first with 49.60 with Nichole Barry at 52.37.

In the 4x100 meter relay the West Valley team of 52.70 Oliva, Halie Linschoten, Russell, and Alward took the event with a 52.7. The 4x400 relay had Yreka winning the event at 4:43.81.

Nichole Barry took first place in the high jump at 4-feet 8-inches but in the pole vault Yreka girls took a first, second and third place. Halie Linschoten from West Valley took fourth with a 6-06.

In the long jump Yreka took first and second and Taylor Samuels had a third with a 13-11. Rachelle Russell had a 33-04 in the triple jump.

In the shot put Ashley Turner had a 33-foot 11-inch throw while in the discus throw Becky Unger sailed the disk 109-feet 9-inches and Ashley Turner threw in 108-09.

Varsity Boys

In the 100-meter dash Anthony Oliva scored first with a 11.24 and Josh McOmber came in next with an 11.52. Tanner Schaeffer took third with a 11.7. In the 200 dash McOmber placed first with a 23.17, Manny Barragan from Yreka was second with a 24.49 and Eagle Ryan Russell had a third with 26.05.

The 400 dash was taken by Yreka at 54.05 with Ben Bradshaw second and Jacob Frasher third with a 54.45 and a 57.07 respectively.

Joel Dumore from West Valley took the 800 run with 2:06.9. Trevor Siperek, in the 1600 run, had a 4:42.4 followed by Ryan Fairley with a 4:49. In the 3200 meter run Trevor Siperek came in first with 12:38.

In the 110-meter hurdles McOmber took first with a 14.66 and in the 300 hurdles Kevin Golly, of Yreka, had a 45.8 followed by Charles Hayley of West Valley with a 48.38.

Yreka took the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays but in the high jump West Valley’s Jesse Hatcher came in at 5-feet 10-inches and Ethan Ostrom at 5-8.

In the long jump Kyson Culp, from Yreka, went 18-07 and Jared Fesler, from West Valley had 16-0. In the triple jump Yreka’s Culp took a 37-11. And Eagle Fesler had a 34-02 and Ben Bradshaw a 33-06.

In the shot put Andy Miller of West Valley beat Jake Fuller with a 43-10 to 43-07. Nick Morgan threw a 30-07. In the discus Fuller sent the disk 172-06 and Miller had a 146-07. Morgan took fourth with a 78-08.
