Tomorrow at Red Bluff, the Anderson Union High School swim team will participate in the Red Bluff Relays.
Head coach Don Williams has added a new assistant coach. Lindsay Williams, a past Cub and Shasta College swimmer, volunteered as a coach for the Cubs several years ago. Don Williams is her father and knows how she can help the team.
Seniors Bryttni Landsem and Dana Dunken and juniors Megan Ball and Amanda New. Landsem and Ball qualified for the Masters Champioships last year in their individual events and both are regulars to the practice routines.
Senior Chris Williams is back on the boys’ squad. Last year Williams was a dougle all-league swimmer who finished in the top three in the Section Championships. The remaining boys swimmers consist of junior varsity level swimmers.
Coach Don Williams said “not one of the Anderson Cub swimmers competes outside the high school season. This is a disadvantage when they race against year-round or summer season swimmers,” said Williams.
Williams, in his 18th season as head coach of the swim team, said that his best swimmers compete in other sports during the year.
