Shop-Rite shows one last time

LAYERS OF HISTORY: Last week the words 'Shop-Rite' could be seen on the building at the corner of North and East Center streets in Anderson. Paint was being stripped from the facade to prepare it to house a Salvation Army thrift store. The J.F. Bedford Co. had the building built in the early 1900s and then a series of owners sold various wares from that location. The Shop-Rite operated in the building between the 1940s and 1970s and most recently, as the sign indicates, Shasta Design Center.
