Approximately 200 pieces of art were donated by local area youth to be auctioned at the first Happy Valley Community Park Fundraiser. The West Valley High School Art Department is also creating art for the auction. Brian Ford, owner of Picture This Frame Shop and Gallery in Redding, donated 100 mats for the art. Alice Wilkinson, an active member of the Park Committee, is matting the art.

West Valley High and Anderson High Home Economics departments are donating baked goods to be sold at the auction. Food and drink donations have been received from local businesses.

Irwin Fust, former District 2 Supervisor, will MC the first fundraising event for the group. Appetizers and sparkling non-alcoholic beverages will be available. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 17 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Happy Valley Community Center at 5400 Happy Valley Road. The bidding will end at 5 p.m. Support your local youth by attending this important community event.

Information about the park project and ways to become involved will be available. All proceeds go to building the park in Happy Valley.
