South County Profile - Feb. 14, 2007
Noah G. Prado, Insurance claims, Blue Shield
Noah Prado was born in Redding in 1982 and has been a mainstay in the South County ever since.
Prado attended elementary school in the Cascade School District and eventually went to Anderson high school. It was during his youth that Prado developed the two greatest passions in his life – playing baseball and music.
While attending Anderson high, Prado played baseball for the Cubs and was an instrumental part of the Cubs’ postseason push during his senior year as a second baseman. Along with his athletic endeavors, Prado was involved in a local punk rock band called “Jimmirig.”
“Between playing the drums for Jimmirig and ball for the Cubs, high school was a great experience,” said Prado. “I miss it all the time.”
Following his high school graduation in 2000, Prado attended some school at Shasta College before entering the work force as a full-time employee. For the past three and a half years Prado has been an insurance claims processor for Blue Shield.
“I really enjoy the people at Blue Shield and the freedom my job provides,” said Prado. “It’s been a good company to work for.”
In his spare time Prado continues to enjoy his hobbies of music and baseball, serving as a drummer in several local bands and playing in an adult baseball league.
In essence, Prado is living by the advice his father, Michael, once gave him.
“I’m doing what I want to do and I’m enjoying doing it,” said Prado. “There are still a lot of things I want to accomplish. It’s a long road ahead.”
