I have to give the City of Anderson management team a lot of credit. They don’t stick their collective heads in the sand when it comes to planning. They actually stand up and ask for people’s opinions, the very same people whose lives will be affected by their decisions.

Yesterday a workshop was held prior to the regularly scheduled city council meeting. The purpose of the workshop was to gain public input on the direction and the type of projects that can be planned for Anderson’s future.

These can be both fun and serious plans. How do we want to see the future of Anderson and its environs progress?

Since the Valley Post is printed on Tuesday, we’re unable to bring you the immediate ideas that came from that workshop. Next week we’ll let you know what the good citizens of Anderson were thinking.

Even if you didn’t make the workshop, your ideas are still important to your councilors. Drop them a line, or give them a call, I know they will listen.

Do they have a White Paper? Do have a master long range plan and goal? It sounds to me like they have short site issues and even shorter 2 year plans. I want to see Anderson grow to its potential like everyone else. But planning is a lot of work. Good planning is far more work than most want to do.
