Happy Valley Lions President Lois Youmans (far right) presents a check for $50 to Stephani Wooliscroft, a West Valley High School student (right), who was chosen to represent the Happy Valley Lions Club in Cottonwood in the local zone contest on March 5.
The Lions Clubs of California will hold the 70th Annual Student Speaker Contest on the topic “Global Warming: Fact or Fiction.” Also competing for the club’s slot were WVHS students Angela Briddle (far left) and Kristina Bradley (left). Each received a participation award of $25. The state finalist will receive a total of $21,000 in scholarship awards.
