Sierra Shaffer is the student of the month for Anderson New Technology High School.

Sierra was nominated for her community service efforts, positive attitude and excellent work ethic both inside and outside of the classroom.

"I want to do something with my life that can impact the world in a positive way," Sierra said.

Her interests involve music, graphic designing and art.

In the future, Sierra looks forward to pursuing a career in education. She plans to initially attend school at Shasta College.

Andrew Landis was selected as West Valley's student of the month. He was nominated for the kindness and respect he gives his fellow students, teachers and administrators.

Andrew has a special ability to make everyone around him comfortable and has been described as one of the hardest working athletes on campus.

Andrew has participated in track, football, basketball and link crew at West Valley. He also enjoys fishing, swimming and singing country music.

Andrew's future plans include a career in athletics as a trainer, coach or physical therapist.

Samantha Carnes was selected as Anderson High School's student of the month.

She has served as green hand representative, treasurer and vice-president of Anderson's FFA program, while maintaining a 4.17 GPA.

Samantha's interests include reading, traveling, drawing and animals. In the future Samantha hopes to attend college

and pursue a career in the art or travel industry.

George Wold nominated Samantha, describing her as an outstanding young lady, who is a hard worker and very studious.
