McCary, and teammate Zach Gibbins, are the baseball captains this year and have brought much spirit to their games. This Cub not only played baseball this year but played offensive left tackle on the football team but, in basketball he received the All League Honorable Mention in the Northern Athletic League. McCary also threw the discus and shot put for the track team when baseball scheduling did not interfere.

When asked if he had a favorite professional athlete that he emulated, his answer was, “Professional? No, but I do have the utmost respect for my Cub teammates.”

Next year McCary will be attending Shasta College where he wants to resume playing baseball but has not ruled out other sports.
