Linda Pritchett of the Cottonwood Enrichment Council led a group through downtown Cottonwood last week in protest of the Shasta Ranch Mining project. The gravel-mining project, approved later that week by the Planning Commission, will have gravel-hauling trucks use Front and Main streets of Cottonwood as one of the routes. The group of protesters opposed that routing because it goes through historic areas, by businesses and schools.
