West Valley keeps on winning

Last Wednesday West Valley hosted Red Bluff and Trinity and dominated the track and field meet. Ironically, the girl’s varsity teams and the girl’s junior varsity teams had identical scores.

Overall scores

Girls Varsity — West Valley 95 - Red Bluff 30 -Trinity 7

Girls JV — West Valley 95 - Red Bluff 30 - Trinity 7

Boys Varsity — West Valley 64 - Red Bluff 44 - Trinity 28

Boys JV — West Valley 79 - Red Bluff 41 - Trinity 12

Varsity Girls

100-meter and 200 dashes Amanda Oliva took both events with a 13.53 seconds for the 100 and a 28.45 for the 200. Katie Jungwirth took the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:06.94 while Red Bluff’s Anna Eicholtz took the 800 run at 2:25. The 1600 run and 3200 runs were split between West Valley and Red Bluff. Michelle Johnson had a 5:31in the 1600 and Kylie Irwin of Red Bluff had a 14:43 in the 3200.

In the 100-meter hurdles, Stephanie Alward came in with 16.83 seconds with Nichole Barry 2nd with a 19.38 and Sarah Miles 3rd with a 20.52. Alward again took the 300 hurdles with a 49.47 and Nichole Barry behind her with a 54.92

The 4x100 meter relay team came in 1st at 53.20 seconds with Amanda Oliva, Sarah Miles, Rachelle Russell, Rachelle and Stephanie Alward running. The 4x400 relay came in at 4:24.

Jasmine Mally recorded 4 foot – 8 inches in the high jump with Nichole Barry at 5-00 and Katie Jungwirth at 4-00.

In the pole vault, Jessie Bailey had a 7 foot vault and Jessica Gibbins went over the bar at 6-06.

The long jump had Taylor Samuels at 14 feet while Rachelle Russell took the triple jump with a 32-09.25

Ashley Turner had 34 feet – 4 inchs in the shot put and then threw the discus 115-11. Becky Unger had a 109-10 for 2nd place.

Varsity Boys

Josh McOmber led off winning with 11.64 seconds in the 100-meter dash. The 200 dash was taken by Red Bluff with a 23.84 time with Trinity 2nd and West Valley 3rd. The 400 dash was a different story with Ben Bradshaw coming in at 55.8 followed by Jacob Frasher at 56.12. Red Bluff took the 800-meter run as well as the 1600 and 3200 runs.

The 110-meter hurdles were taken by Ethan Ostrom with 17.82 seconds and Josh McOmber took the 300 hurdles with a 41.2.

In the 4x100 meter relay, West Valley’s Scott Kinyon, Ethan Ostrom, Ben Bradshaw and Jake Morales ran it in 46.07 seconds. In the 4x400 relay West Valley finish with a 3:48 with teammates Ben Bradshaw, Charles Hayley, Ryan Russell and Jacob Frasher.

The high jump was taken by West Valley’s Ethan Ostrom with a 6 feet jump followed by Trinity and then Red Bluff.

Ethan Ostrom took the pole vault with a 13 feet – 6 inches followed by Trinity’s Justin Hymas at 11-0.

The long jump went to Trinity followed by Red Bluff and then West Valley.

The triple jump was taken by Jared Fesler from West Valley at 34-09 and Jake Fuller took the shot put with a 46-08. Fuller also took the discus with a 172-02 throw.
