The Division III defending section champions West Valley earned the No. 2 seed and hosted No. 3 Enterprise at 4 p.m. yesterday. As of press time there were no scores reported.

Even though the Lady Eagles beat Lassen last Thursday 5-1 Lassen had taken the No. 1 seed after tying the Eagles in the Northern Athletic League with 9-1 records. Lassen split the regular-season series and have played in the past two section finals. Lassen hosted No. 4 Oroville and, with a win, the Lady Grizzlies could end up with their third section title in four years.

In Division IV the No. 5 Anderson girls visited No. 4 Corning to open the playoffs. With a win, the Cubs could play top-seeded Sutter for the second year in a row. The No. 1 Sutter Huskies hosted No. 8 Mount Shasta and No. 2 Wheatland hosted No. 7 Durham. That winner will play the winner of the No. 6 Orland and No. 3 Willows game.
