Meadow Lane student receives award

Kevin Officer-Combs (front), second-grader at Meadow Lane Elementary School, holds a certificate and a check for $100 that the Hearing Loss Association of America, Shasta Chapter presented to him.

The association gave awards totaling $7,100 to students in the county who qualified by being hearing impaired, live in Shasta County and show improvement in academic progress. Also pictured are Marion Peterson (left back), awards chair, and Patty Ward, chapter president.
