Two seniors at Anderson High School were selected as students of the month. They also both made the honor roll. The two both think they are not special and they love to sing and act — “which means we love performing,” they both said.
Hutton has been in numerous musicals and plays and the women’s choir. She has been a cheerleader and in the FFA, but wants to move to Los Angeles and attend the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA), majoring in studio production.
House has also been in the women’s choir and a cappella choir and in two musicals and two plays. She is vice president of choir and has been section leader for the alto singers. She would also like to go to AMDA and then to New York to act and sing on the Broadway stage.

Senior Kirkland Frost was nominated by the staff for his “positive and helpful attitude.”
Kirkland swam for West Valley High School in his junior and senior years. He has been involved in the drama production class at New Tech and is an Eagle Scout. He will continue in scouting until his 18th birthday.
His future holds Shasta College where he will continue his swimming. He will work on his general education at Shasta and then transfer to a four-year university where he may study either photography or to be a paramedic.

Roy Button is an “exceptional student, athlete, and humanitarian,” said Scott Fairley, teacher and track coach.
Roy has played baseball all four years at WV, batting a .340 with 21 RBIs, in addition to four years of American Legion baseball.
Button has been in the Krazy Krew Spirit Club, Key Club, Science Bowl, Mock Trial, the school musical and the Link Crew. He is also the school’s student webmaster. He is a leader and has participated in numerous leadership conferences and helps out in the community.
Button won a $1,500 Math and Science Bank of America award. He is the first, since 2001, from West Valley to win this award.
He plans on attending the University of California at Berkeley.
