U.S. flag retirement ceremony.
Color Guard member Fred Slueter properly retires a U.S. flag at a flag retirement ceremony last Thursday at the VFW Post 9650. Forty-five Anderson Heights fourth-grade students from Heather Morphan’s and Nicki Lafferty’s classes handed the flags to Post 9650 members and auxiliary members. Music teacher Connie Shrum led the students in singing patriot songs during the official flag retirement ceremony.
