Perspective: Farewell
I will be leaving the Valley Post on Nov. 12 after a little over a year as editor. It has been my great pleasure to work with the communities of Anderson, Cottonwood and Happy Valley. I’ve been honored to meet so many good and civic-minded people who have been a very positive part of my job at the Valley Post. It has been a wonderful experience to cover the events and changes in the South County, especially the growth in Anderson.
I hope the Valley Post will continue to be your local community newspaper, regardless of any changes that take place in other North State newspapers. There is a lot going on in the South County and the Valley Post has tried to provide good coverage. However, the paper will always need your help with bringing news to the attention of the staff. It’s an indispensable partnership that will benefit the paper and the community.
Thank you to my co-workers at the Valley Post and the people of the community who have been such a great pleasure to work with.
George Winship will be the new editor and has already been working with me to become familiar with the newspaper and his new position. George will assume editor responsibilities Nov. 13. I wish George all the best in his new position have I have no doubt that the paper will gain much from his guidance and contributions.
