Area students visit the living historians and experienced moments from the 1860s.
Students learned about the Emancipation Proclamation announcement in the Union Camp. A fife and drum corps could be heard between the booms of the cannon fire. Both Union and Confederate camps dressed in the company uniforms and reenacted a battle in Virginia.
The battle continues this weekend.
