West Valley boys take D-II swimming

West Valley took an eighth straight D-II boys title with 444 points and Winters High School was second with 382 last Wednesday at the West Valley pool.

West Valley senior Tanner Wilson finished first in the 100-freestyle and second in the boys 50-yard freestyle race in the Division II championship meet at the West Valley pool. Wilson beat Durham’s Mullarkey who had won the 50-free in 22.71.Wilson had the only first place for Eagles swimmers with the finish in the 100-free to win in 50.68 seconds. West Valley’s Destry Serna with a 1:05.37 and teammate Matt Bohlin with 1:07.04 were second and third.

Anderson’s Chris Williams was second in 1:04.66.Williams had two second-place finishes for the Cubs for the 200 individual medley with 2:18.31.

West Valley’s Chris James was fifth in the 100-free with 58.07 and the 200-free with 2:10.30. Dylan Owen was fifth in the 100-breaststroke with 1:13.19) and Matt Bohlin added a fifth in the 100-back with a time of 1:08.33.

Eagle Ashley Moebes had a third place in the 100-breast with 1:15.36 and fifth in the 200-IM with 2:36.62. Megan Taylor was fourth in the 100-back with 1:10.30 and fifth in the 100-fly with 1:12.88.

Two schools shared the girl’s D-II crown with 303 points each and the Lady Eagles were third with 290.5 points. Orland was fourth with 220 points.
