“A History of Anderson,” as seen through the eyes of the Cascade Union Elementary School District’s Gifted and Talented Program (G.A.T.E.) students, will be presented to the school board tomorrow, in the form of a DVD they prepared.

At the regularly scheduled board meeting tomorrow, in the Anderson Middle School Library at 4 p.m., the G.A.T.E. students will present the DVD and a computer on which to run the DVD to the board members of the Anderson Historical Society and Museum.

District G.A.T.E. students, third through sixth grades, have worked on a year-long community where they researched the local history and learned computer skills to create PowerPoint shows, word processing and animation techniques. District G.A.T.E. teachers are Brian Packham from Anderson Middle School, Sonja Padgett from Anderson Heights School and Shirley Quibell from Meadow Lane and Verde Vale Schools.

The Anderson Historical Society and Museum board members Jack Faulkenbury, Delores Mitchell, Iris Turner, Millie Moravec, Laurel Boeck and Marge Dial will be present to accept the gifts.

Faulkenbury and Mitchell said that the DVDs will be used as a museum fundraiser and will be available at the museum on Ferry Street.
