49 Club is again in business

After opening the Copadouro café, owner Ramond Randle has reopened the 49 Club next door at 2959 E. Center St. in Anderson. The bar was unofficially opened for a jazz concert in June, but the bar has opened for business as of Friday, Aug. 1.

“We’ll have oldies, jazz and blues,” Randle said. “That’s what we’re about. I want it to be a baby boomer hangout.”

Randle said he plans to have live performances on Fridays and Saturdays, with an open mic on Sunday afternoons.

Randle returned from a recent trip to Brazil with more paintings to hang in the club, the interior of which had already undergone a significant overhaul. The paintings, all original works from Brazilian artists, are for sale at the club.

Open hours at the club, which serves beer and wine, are 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. Monday through Thursday and 12 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Should be a winner, enjoy all the music taste;especially the blues (my prayers are with Mr. Morgan Freeman)also a blues nightclub owner in Ms. and one helluva actor;will have to take a peek and listen;after 25+ years behind the plank, have a weakness for a good place!
Good luck Mr. Randle, hope to see you soon!
