All incumbents in race for 3 Anderson City Council seats

The deadline to file for candidacy for Anderson City Council is Aug. 8, since all incumbents — Phil Burnett, Norma Comnick and Melissa Hunt — have filed for election along with new candidate James Yarbrough.

Burnett and Yarbrough are the only candidates to have qualified by Monday, Aug. 4.

Burnett is completing his second four-year term on the council. Hunt will face her first election as she was appointed in January 2007 to fill the unexpired term of Les Baugh, who was elected to the Shasta County Board of Supervisors. Comnick was appointed to a seat on the council in April 1996. She won election in 2000 and was re-elected in 2004.
