Haven to host search and rescue demo on Saturday
The public is invited to meet Jagger, soon to be a graduate of the National Disaster Search Dog Foundation, during a search and rescue demonstration at Haven Humane Society, 7449 Eastside Road, Redding on Saturday Aug. 9, 9-11 a.m.
Jagger is one of several dogs rescued from Haven’s shelter that has been trained to become a life-saving resource.
“Come see Jagger master the agility equipment, walk the teeter totter while you learn how these dogs are started in rubble work,” said event organizer Laura Rathe, who is a regular on Haven’ s Pet of the Week segments each Friday morning on KRCR television and later on KQMS and Hank radio stations.
Haven trainers, staff members and volunteers as well as the dog fanciers around the community will be on hand for this educational event. Refreshments will be served throughout the event. For more information, call Rathe at (530) 243-6911.
