We had a wonderful turnout for the annual volunteer appreciation dinner held here at the Frontier Senior Center on Monday, July 28. More than 160 volunteers were invited to attend the dinner and receive an award certificate for all of the hours of service that each person contributed during the past year.

All of the classes, events and activities offered at the center are all led by volunteers. If it were not for the volunteers, we would not be able to provide as many activities for the seniors of our community.

Each year the Anderson Rotary Club graciously provides the food and time to cook up a wonderful meal of tri-tip, chicken and all the fixings for our volunteers. To watch them work together is like watching a well oiled machine in action. We want to thank them for all of their efforts in making our dinner a success. Great job guys and gals!

As many of you know, most of our computer classes close for the summer months as many of our volunteer instructors take a well-deserved vacation. Most of the classes will resume in September. I’m not sure of the specific dates at this time, but I do know they will be held at the same time and days of the week as in the past. I will post the dates as soon as I get them.

I’d like to welcome Sue and Larry Kester our new coordinators for Wednesday and Friday bingo. They have been doing a wonderful job with fresh new ideas and approaches to running the bingo games. So join us here at the center for an enjoyable afternoon of Bingo starting at 11 a.m.

All day quilting — Monday, Wednesday and Friday, starting at 8:30 a.m.

Pinochle — Monday, Tuesday and Friday at 1 p.m.
