Disabilities soccer team sign ups
TEAM SPIRIT:
TOPSoccer players take advantage of being with their teammates by playing a friendly game of soccer during sign ups.
Sign ups are underway for TOPSoccer, a disabilities soccer team for youth ages 5 to 19.
The first round of sign ups happened Saturday, Aug. 16. Another opportunity for youth to join the league will take place next Saturday, Aug. 23 at Anderson River Park in the horseshoe pit from 10 a.m. to noon.
TOPSoccer is open the any child with a disability including, but not limited to; ADD, Autism, Hearing-Impaired, Sight-Impaired, Cerebral Palsy, Traumatic Brain Injury, Cystic Fibrosis, Down’s Syndrome, MS, Multiple Dystrophy, Seizure Disorder, and Spina Bifida. In some cases, it may be necessary to provide a doctor’s permission ship in order for your child to participate. Please bring copy of birth certificates to sign up day, if possible. This is not necessary for returning players.
The games will start the Saturday after Labor Day, and are played weekly — each Saturday at 9 a.m. at Anderson River Park. Games are played through the 1st week of November.
The $28 cost is minimal and covers uniforms and insurance. Community donations are welcome. For more information call coach Luke Ford at 347-5792.
