15-year-old okay after bicycle accident
Kellie Lawrence, 15, of Anderson drove her bike into a moving pick-up truck that was travelling east on Riverside Drive in Anderson at 3:05 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 23, according to CHP officer Mark Roberts.
Lawrence was riding her bicycle north on Loop when she collided into the side of the truck driven by Negdo Gonzalez Figueroa, 36, of Shasta Lake City. An ambulance arrived to transport Lawrence to Mercy Medical Center in Redding. Her injuries were minor, and she was released the same day.
“Luckily she was wearing her helmet, likely that prevented further injuries,” Roberts said.
The officer said the truck was already in the intersection at the time of the collision, so the young lady was probably at fault.
