High school cowboys and cowgirls from the California High School Rodeo Association (CHSRA), District One, participated in two days of competition on Feb. 9-10 at the Bobby Jones Arena in Cottonwood.

The two-day event allowed each participant to ride in two go-rounds of their individual events to receive a point average for the weekend. The top five competitors in each event at the end of the CHSRA season will advance to the state finals in Bishop, held June 16-21. The next CHSRA Rodeo to be held locally at the Bobby Jones Arena in Cottonwood is on April 5-6. Results from the competition on Feb. 9-10 are as follows:

All Around Cowboy: Daniel Ferreira, Fort Jones.

Reserve All Around: Jordan Spears, Redding; 2nd Runnerup: Dean Autry, Fort Jones; 3rd Runnerup: Laramie Collins, Weed; 4th Runnerup: Talon Chatham, Bella Vista.

All Around Cowgirl: Bliss Bidwell, Hat Creek.

Reserve All Around: Callie Anthony, Red Bluff; 2nd Runnerup: Jenna Price, Orland. 3rd Runnerup: Kayla Johnson, Fort Jones; 4th Runnerup: Katie Lear, Anderson.
