AUHS boys’ soccer take D-1 title

Anderson High School boys’ soccer team beat Sutter 4-1 for the Northern Section Division I title last Saturday in pouring rain. Anderson had two goals in the first half when Robbie Robertson had a penalty kick and then Brandt Ransom had a goal with an assist by Josh Sherman

In the second-half, Silbano Alcazar scored with two assists. The Sutter Huskies scored and Alcazar’s goal had the Cubs leading 3-1.

Angel Melendez’s ball went to Alcazar on the far side of the goal who sent it into the net for the goal. Alcazar then took a pass from Robertson and Alcazar sent it in for the goal.

Kody Kraft, who had been on the side line with an injury most of the season, came in as goalie after Jesse Ramirez left the game.
