When West Valley senior Jessica Webb decided on her senior project, she was determined to talk to animal rescue person Janie Hopper.
Webb met Hopper through Cindy McAndrews, who works at the high school. Hopper is President of ResQ Animal Coalition and is sponsoring Webb’s project.
Webb’s project is a “needy animal food drive.”
Boxes for dog and cat food donations have been placed at the Anderson Veterinary Clinic, 3100 W. Center St., Anderson; Holiday Quality Foods, 20635 Gaspoint Road, Cottonwood; Anderson Farm and Yard Supply, 2715 Highway 273; Critter Corner Pets, 2467 Hartnell Ave., Redding; and Cottonwood Feed. Recipients of the food will go to a managed feral cat colony in Shasta County and to assist low-income seniors with dogs. This is Webb’s senior project.
Three weeks ago, Webb and Hopper went to the Red Bluff Animal Control to rescue a Manx female cat. ResQ takes animals from all over the West Coast including parrots, small dogs and some reptiles such as turtles and tortoises. For more information about ResQ, contact Hopper at 276-ZDOG (276-9364).
