Letter to the editor: Jan. 30, 2008

Dear Editor,

Our Anderson City Council seems to think that our bus system is just fine. Well, I am a resident of Anderson, and I work in Anderson, and Anderson needs more service, period. The service that is currently running is not often enough and does not service enough residents in Anderson.

It basically is a run from Redding to Anderson’s Wal-Mart with a small loop in town. That is not enough at all. I recently rode the bus and the same complaint was stated by other passengers that were riding with me. The route is so long that drivers have a mandatory stop to sit and wait.

I attended the last public meeting in Anderson and not one Anderson City Council representative attended. I was also told that as far as Norma Comnick was concerned, the bus route in Anderson was fine the way it was. It is apparent she does not ride the bus, for if she did she would never say that.

I’m hoping the new mayor of Anderson, Butch Schaefer, will listen to the needs of Anderson residents. How about trying to ride the bus and do your grocery shopping one day.

Thank you for your time, Kim Nicholas, Anderson
