Jesse “David“ Little and his beloved dog, and best friend, Dodger, passed away in their home in Anderson, California on July 2, 2008.
David was born December 26, 1939 in Ivanhoe to George and Eddie Mae (Russell) Little. His family moved to Seaside, California in 1940.
David graduated from Monterey High School in 1957. Shortly thereafter, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Oregon at the Mt. Hebo Radar Station. After his service in the military, David returned to the Monterey Peninsula where he lived and worked as a carpenter for the next 25 years.
He was an extremely talented craftsman and much of his handiwork is viewable in Carmel and throughout the Monterey Peninsula, including the Monterey Bay Aquarium, the Monterey Plaza Hotel and the Monterey Convention Center. Later, he worked as a building inspector at the Presidio of Monterey and the Lemoore Naval Air Station in California.
He retired in 2000 and moved to Anderson, CA, near the Anderson River Park. He loved the park and considered it an extension of his backyard. There, he and his best buddy Dodger could be seen daily, riding on David’s power-wheelchair and experiencing their love for the outdoors. David is best remembered for his love of family and friends, his passion for fishing and his wonderful sense of humor.
David is survived by his 4 children: DeWayne (Cindy) Little of Cottonwood, CA, Debbie (Dave) Baxter of Roseburg, OR, Dale (Stacy) Little of Appleton, WI. Christina (Bob) Homami of Monterey, CA; 12 Grandchildren; his sisters: Ruby Cox of Fall River Mills, CA, Georgie Harris of Pasco, WA and Virginia Franklin of Eagle Point, OR; and countless nieces and nephews.
