Woodrow Wilson Kilpatric

Woodrow Wilson Kilpatric, 91 went home to be with the Lord on July 4, 2008 at Oak River Rehab in Anderson, CA. He was born September 2, 1916 in Willow Springs, Missouri to Alva and Laura (Weatherford) Kilpatric. He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters and his oldest daughter Kathy Little. He leaves his wife Dorothy Kilpatric, daughters Christine Buchanan (John) of Happy Valley, CA and Janet Lathrop (Jim) of Reno, NV, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He also leaves behind many other extended family members and special friends.

He moved from Missouri to Greenville, CA in 1938. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943 and was assigned to the Seabee Detachment #1049, stationed in Exeter, England. After WWII he returned to Westwood, CA where he worked for Fruit Growers Supply Company. On March 1, 1947 he married Dorothy Plaetke of Westwood. In 1948 they moved to Anderson, CA where he worked for Ralph L. Smith Lumber Company, later Kimberly Clark Corporation. For many years he worked in the box factory until his retirement in 1978.

He was a member of Crossroads Bible Fellowship (formerly First Baptist Church) in Anderson and faithfully served in many positions for 60 years.

Viewing and visitation will be Thursday July 10, 2008 from 4:30 - 7:00 p.m. at McDonald's Chapel Redding Services will be held Friday, July 11, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at McDonald's Chapel Redding.
