Cottonwood providing after-school childcare
The Cottonwood Union School District is providing after-school childcare for the 2008-2009 school year. The program will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Registration is $10. The cost of the program is $35 per week per child. Those paying for a second child will receive a 10 percent discount, as will those who pay monthly in advance.
Registration forms will be available Aug. 1 and thereafter at school offices. The forms must be complete before a child can attend the after school program.
WV Student Katie Veatch awarded scholarship
The Campaign for College Opportunity awarded Katie Veatch from West Valley High School a scholarship through the 2008 “Save Me a Spot in College“ scholarship contest.
The contest intends to inspire young people to go to college. Veatch is one of more than 200 California students receiving an award for her entry that answered the question, “Why should California save you and your peers a spot in college?“
