Lassen High School’s girls basketball team played West Valley Northern Section Division III semifinal Feb. 26 at West Valley and the Lady Eagles had a 63-37 win over the Lassen Grizzlies
Before the game, Eagles coach Gary Memeo, in a very modest voice, said, “I do hope we beat them.”
And it was beat they did as Tabttha Wampler tallied 12 points, 10 rebounds with eight points in the first quarter. Lauren Swetland scored 15 points with 14 rebounds averaging 12.8 rebounds and 10.8 points per game. Mikalyn Wintle scored 13 points while Morgan McCarly had eight points with six rebounds.
This was West Valley’s fourth straight title representation and a chance at back-to-back crowns.
