The Democrats of Shasta County will hold a 6:30 p.m. dinner meeting Wednesday, Oct. 8, at the Senior Center, 2290 Benton Dr., Redding, to highlight the Nov. 4 general election and the political party's candidates listed on the ballot.

Redding Mayor Mary Stegall will describe her "Journey to the Democratic National Convention, 2008."

Jeff Morris, Democratic candidate for United States Representative, 2nd District, will describe his plans for improving our representation in Washington, D.C.

Paul Singh, Democratic candidate for California State Assembly, 2nd District, will discuss how he hopes to improve our representation in the state Legislature.

Members of the Redding Riverside Chorus will perform a variety of songs throughout the evening.

San Francisco Deli, Catering & BBQ will serve a barbecued chicken dinner for attendees to enjoy, party publicist Marsha Blomquist stated.

Donation to the event is $20 per person.
