Gun-toting shoplifter arrested

One of the shoplifters that evaded Anderson Police Department personnel on foot Sept. 4 was later identified through Wal-Mart's security cameras. Anderson Police Department Captain Robert Kirvin said the APD recognized one of the men immediately.

Anthony Wilson, 30, was arrested on Sept. 9 for violation of parole, illegal possession of a firearm, burglary, giving false identification to peace officer, two counts of obstructing public officers and violation of probation.

The two walked out with a variety of hygiene items, Kirvin said, adding that all items were recovered.

The unidentified man was described to be in his 30s, bald, no shirt, blue jean shorts, heavy set with tattoos. Kirvin asked that anyone with information contact the APD at 378-6600.

Igo trailer fatality identified

The victim found dead in a camper trailer fire at 12444 Gas Point Road, Igo on Aug. 28 was identified by coroners as Dale Carl Carter, 61, of Igo. The cause of death was determined to be smoke inhalation and thermal burns.
