Naked man gets DUI
Anderson police were called to Balls Ferry Road and Stingy Lane early Saturday morning after someone reported a traffic accident.
Officers arrived about 12:30 a.m. and found a vehicle that had plowed through a chain link fence and struck a large oak tree, a report from the Anderson Police Department says.
The vehicle was empty, but officers found a man nearby, who they believe was a passenger.
He had injuries to his face and stomach, the report says. The man was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Redding for treatment.
The wreck's investigation led to another house where officers saw a man flee from the back door and run off into the neighborhood.
The officers chased, eventually finding the man naked, hiding in a rosebush in the front yard of a Lori Court home.
Officers arrested Bub Bamford, 25, of Anderson, on suspicion of felony driving under the influence, felony hit and run and parole violation.
He was booked Saturday into the Shasta County jail.
