The West Valley varsity baseball team came from behind for a 9-6 victory over Lassen on March 27.

West Valley didn't get their bats going until the sixth inning when they scored 4 runs to take the 6-5 lead. They added two insurance runs in the top of the 7th inning to seal the win.

Pitcher Matt Roberts got the win for the Eagles, tossing three relief innings, and striking out three.

Justin Clark went 4-for-5 with two runs scored, and Al Doiron was 4-for-5 with three RBIs. Justin Naber had a triple and three RBIs. Tony D'Chevy was 1-for-2 three runs scored for West Valley.

On Tuesday, March 31, West Valley pounded Yreka with a 8-0 win.

The Eagles had 11 hits to the Miners 1.

Pitcher Luke Alward pitched a complete game with seven strikeouts and only one walk.

Catcher Jael Uhl broke the game open in the bottom of the 4th inning with a two-out, 3 run homerun.

Shortstop Justin Naber went 3 for 4 with 1 RBI and 2 runs. Second baseman Matt Roberts went 2 for 3 with 1 run, and center fielder Justin Clark went 2 for 4 with 1 run.

Eagles played an error-free game and faced only 22 Yreka batters in a 7 inning game - only one batter over the minimum.

West Valley's game against Corning was another story. The team fell 1-9 to the Cardinals on Friday.

After allowing the Cardinals to score 5 runs in the first inning, the Eagles couldn't pull off a comeback. Defensively, West Valley made an unlikely 7 errors. They also struggled offensively against powerful Corning pitchers.
