The Cubs varsity baseball team shutout Redding Christian in a 13-0 triumph on Monday.
The Cubs had 11 hits, and were led by senior Ty Meyer with 3 hits and 3 RBIs. Sophomore Cody Payne had 2 hits and 2 RBIs. Junior Dalton Gurney had 2 hits as well.
Pitcher Gurney had 6 strikeouts on the game. Ryan Metcalf pitched relief for the Cubs.
The win puts the Cubs at a 6-7 overall record. The team is 1-4 in league play, and are fifth in NAL standings.
League leaders for the Cubs include Ty Meyer, who is third with a .440 batting average. Meyer is in a three-way tie for second with 4 home runs, and is second in the league in slugging with .944.
Cubs senior Josh Toney is fifth in the league with .650 slugging average.
