Anderson's varsity softball team had a dominating 14-3 win at Central Valley last Tuesday.
Anderson had an impressive 11 hits against the Falcons. The Cubs were led by sophomore Jaylynn Trotter, who had 4 hits and 4 RBIs. Both sophomore Karlee Pokorny and freshman Cheridan Hawkins hit 2 and had 2 RBIs. Senior Samantha Hampton had 2 hits, and sophomore Raven Chavez had 1.
Senior Katie Barnette got the win pitching for the Cubs. She had 5 strikeouts during the game.
The win gave the Cubs a 7-14 overall record. They are 1-2 in league games and are fourth of six teams in the Northern Athletic League.
Anderson league leaders include Cheridan Hawkins, who is fifth in the league with a .417 batting average. She's also fifth in slugging percentage with a .583 average. Hawkins is third in the league with 17 RBIs.
Cubs pitcher Barnette is fifth in the league with 64 strikeouts so far this season.
The Cubs will meet their inter-league rival, the Eagles, in their next game on April 21.
