Shasta County Secret Witness has several rewards available for information leading to the arrest and conviction suspects for crimes occurring in southern Shasta County.
Up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Clinton Roach. Roach was identified as the third person that committed the home invasion/Burglary occurring March 17 at Flicker Way in Anderson. He has a warrant for his arrest not related to this investigation.
Up to $250.00 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect(s) that took newspaper boxes during Nov. 2008. Four separate thefts of newspaper boxes have been reported in Shasta County and incorporated cities. They remove the entire newspaper unit from in front of businesses and gaining access to the money later at a remote location.
Up to $500.00 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect(s) that burglarized Franklin Auto Parts, McMurry Dr., Anderson. Suspect(s) gained entry by smashing glass front door. Suspect(s) checked five cash registers drawers, obtaining currency from four of them. A green Dodge full-size truck driven by a white male, 30s, shaved head possibly involved. Burglary was committed Dec. 13, 2008 at 2 a.m.
Up to $500.00 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect that tried to burglarize Ace Hardware, Hwy 273, Anderson. Suspect shattered the glass near front door of business but didn't enter but flees on foot. Suspect was wearing jacket, gloves, hood, and face covering. Burglary was committed Nov. 11, 2008, at 11 p.m.
Up to $500.00 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect(s) that entered Players Pizza and Sports at Balls Ferry Rd., Anderson. Suspect entered by breaking the glass front door and attempted to pry open one cash register and was unsuccessful. Suspect fled the scene with a second cash register. Burglary was committed Nov. 4. 2008, sometime during the night.
Up to $500.00 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect that entered The Lunch Box Deli, Industrial Way, Anderson. Suspect flees the business with the cash register. Burglary was committed Oct. 27, 2008 at 1:38am.
Up to $500.00 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect that entered Mary's Pizza Shack, Anderson Outlets. Opened cash registers for money. Finding no money, suspect exits the business. Red Ford Ranger type pickup truck is possibly involved as it was seen leaving the area shortly after the burglary. Crime was committed Dec. 13, 2008 at 5:33 a.m.
Up to $250 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of suspect(s) that vandalized parked cars near or at the West Valley High School. Crime was committed between Oct. 20 and Nov. 26, 2008.
Up to $3,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of burglars breaking into vacant homes in Shasta County. Crimes occurred at various times starting in September 2008.
"Secret Witness of Shasta County, Inc. is a private non-profit organization of concerned citizens dedicated to solving crimes and improving public safety by generating information not otherwise available. The information aids law enforcement in prevention of crime, arresting, and prosecuting suspects," according to the organization's Web site. "The identity of tipsters shall remain protected and anonymous. Qualified tipsters will be rewarded for their information."
President of the organization Sharon Lassiter estimated 4 or 5 tipsters are paid by the organization each year.
"We meet once a month with law enforcement to go over crimes and tips," she said.
