Traitors betray US

They don't call them traitors, but that is what they are - these people who, by disobeying the United States Constitution and the just laws under that Constitution, betray the trust of the American people.

They are traitors regardless of their political, economic or social standing. Too many of those people, in the past decades, have taken a cavalier attitude toward the U.S. Constitution and its guarantees to Americans. This seems especially true of legislators and authorities responsible for seeing that just laws are enforced.

In reading the Constitution and its original 10 amendments, I have been impressed by the miracle of the simplicity, clarity, and meaning of the principles those wise forefathers pounded into the Constitution so it would be fully understood. These served well until some smart politicians felt they were restricted in some of their shenanigans and strove to change the laws for their own nefarious purposes.

Unhappily we have watched the government put new interpretations on laws, some of which have even been upheld by the Supreme Court, subverting what our forefathers intended when the Constitution was written. Today, the very legislators and authorities sworn to obey and uphold those laws are among the worst offenders in their pursuit of wealth, power and fame.

Those authorities have broken laws protecting the sovereignty of the United States by not only allowing, but by encouraging and protecting, the illegal entry of huge numbers of aliens. These cost American taxpayers multimillions of dollars to feed, educate, medicate, police and imprison their criminals while they ship their earnings out of the country.

When it chooses their purpose, bureaus and bureaucrats ignore "guarantees' in the Constitution. Example: When property is seized under "right of eminent domain" people are not paid enough to replace the property with equal property which would fulfill "nor shall private property be taken for public use; without just compensation."

Another misinterpretation: "Separation of church and state" The amendment says the government is not to establish or prohibit "free exercise" of religion. Display or use of words, songs, or emblems are far cries from establishment of religions, but people are forbidden to use these in many public places.

These are only a few of the betrayals Americans have faced over past decades. We have watched corruption, the misuse of public funds, injustices and unnecessary restrictions meted out to honest citizens by all levels of government.

Our nation is horribly sick. We need public servants who will serve the ideals of our forefathers, as Benjamin Franklin said, without "wealth or sinecure."
