The Optionals Team from Athletics Unlimited recently placed in ninth out of 54 teams from all over California

The meet was held in Stockton.

"It is amazing to watch these girls to do so well against gymnasts from larger gyms in bigger cities," stated Phil Ewart, owner of Athletics Unlimited. "We are all really proud of them."

Two of the gymnasts from the Optionals Team are competing at a level nine, while the other gymnasts are competing at level seven. As the level moves up in the sport of gymnastics, so does the degree of difficulty in the routines and practices.

The Optionals season consists of six to eight meets, beginning in December and ending in April. During optional season competitions, all of the competitors perform the same routines. Each gymnast competes in their strongest event using their strongest skills, and work to show their best techniques.
