Business owners feeling shipwrecked by current economic conditions can now learn how to effectively paddle through these difficult waters!
The Shasta Cascade Wonderland Association is hosting its third annual Tourism Summit on Tuesday May 12, during National Tourism Week.
This is an important opportunity for regional tourism professionals, those working in related industries and individuals who view tourism as a tool to stimulate the local economy to come together and learn about how to put their best effort forward.
The summit this year will feature nationally renowned speaker and tourism expert Berkeley Young.
Attendees will review critical, current travel data and its expected effect on travel to northern California. Young is known for his down-to-earth presentations that make trends data meaningful to your everyday work and planning process
Other topics open for discussion include partnerships, branding versus positioning, cultural and heritage tourism and more!
Attendance is recommended for tourism professionals, destination management organizations and representatives of area chambers of commerce, owners of hotels, bed and breakfasts, wineries, restaurants, tour operators and guides, city and county government officials, leaders of arts organizations, historical societies and museums, as well as any others interested in making their community a more viable tourism destination.
The cost to attend is $25.00 for advanced registration or $35.00 at the door.
That price includes the workshop, lunch and, as a special treat, we've arranged with Turtle Bay Museum to tour the museum and see their newest exhibit.
Museum attendance alone would normally cost $30, but it is included in the workshop's registration fee.
The deadline to register is Friday, April 30. The event will be held at the Win River Casino's Eagle Room, Redding, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 12.
