Happy Valley farmers to get more water

The forecasted allocation of Central Valley Project water supply to agricultural lands increased to 15 percent due to generous March precipitation, the Bureau of Reclamation announced on Tuesday, April 21. The forecasted allocation for residential and industrial use was listed by Reclamation at 65 percent.

"They are supposed to do another one in a month, May 20," Clear Creak Community Services District CEO Char Workman-Flowers said. "They will do another one in June, presumably."

The CCCSD board plans a special board meeting Monday, April 27 at 9 a.m. at the district office to discuss the new allocation, Workman-Flowers said. Considering the increased allocation, she expects the board to lower the price of water in the district to customers.

Inflow into Shasta Lake was forecasted to reach 3.9 million acre feet.
