Shasta County Department of Resource Management scheduled a free tire recycling event for Sunday, May 3, 9 a.m.- 2 p.m. at the Shasta District Fair grounds, 1890 Briggs Rd.
The event is open to Shasta County residents. Nine tires per vehicle maximum may be transported without a letter from the department. Up to five of the nine tires may be on rims.
Tires over six feet in diameter, tires from dealers, and tires from wrecking yards will not be accepted. Anyone transporting more tires than authorized will be reported to the California Integrated Waste Management Board as an unregistered waste tire hauler.
