The West Valley Eagles played the Anderson Cubs on the Cubs' home field at Volonte Park in Anderson April 21.

The Cubs played an offensive game, but West Valley has been working on its defense lately and turned around a four game losing streak with four victories. Unfortunately, West Valley has also lost its pitcher, Luke Alward, to a broken pelvis that he suffered when sliding in to one of the bases during a previous game.

"The boys have been working hard on reducing the amount of errors that occur during their games and it has paid off," said Bo Adkins, West Valley's head coach.

"At one point, we would have five or six errors per game. We are no longer making errors and therefore are doing well," the coach continued.

West Valley beat Anderson 3 to 1 in their final inter-district game.
