Anderson men arrested for alleged theft of AUHS bleacher metal

Three Anderson residents, Eric Jason Tackett, 38, Edward Otis Tackett, 41, and Mark Randall Smith, 46, were arrested by APD Aug. 6 for the alleged theft of metal brackets from a bleacher refurbishing project at the football stadium at Anderson Union High School, APD Captain Kirvin said.

After the theft, which occurred between Aug. 5 and Aug. 6, APD Officer Matt Goodwin alerted local recycling centers to be aware of the stolen property.

North State Recycling, Inc. in Redding contacted the APD when three men attempted to recycle the stolen property, valued at $2,000 by the high school, Kirvin said. Employees at the recycling center stalled the three men long enough for the APD to arrive.
